Freshly flattened horse arena

Crafting the perfect ride: our expansive equine arena in western region

In 2023, Elite Concrete & Earthmoving completed a significant project: an equine arena in the western region. This project was monumental, culminating in a sprawling arena measuring an impressive 100m x 42m. Our comprehensive approach to this project included a meticulously rolled clay base, which we achieved using our own heavy-duty roller, showcasing our capability to manage and execute all aspects of construction with in-house resources.

Building the foundation

The foundation of any great equine arena lies in its base. We started this project with a clay base known for its excellent compaction properties, ensuring a stable and durable foundation. Our team expertly rolled the clay to create a uniform and solid base layer, setting the stage for the high-performance surface to come.

Topping it off with precision

Above the clay base, we applied a layer of crusher dust followed by sand. Both materials were carefully flooded and then rolled to perfection, creating a top layer that combines stability, drainage, and rideability. This meticulous process ensures a surface that is safe for the horses and riders and durable enough to withstand the rigours of equestrian activities.

The Elite touch

What sets this arena apart is the attention to detail and the quality of the construction materials. By owning our equipment, like the heavy-duty roller, we maintain control over every phase of the project, ensuring that each step meets our high standards. This approach guarantees that the final product not only meets but exceeds our clients’ expectations.

A space for champions

Completing the western equine arena is a testament to our commitment to excellence and ability to deliver large-scale projects on time and within budget. This arena provides a premier venue for training, competitions, and recreational riding, contributing significantly to the equestrian community in the western region.
